La Gata Bajo La Lluvia

Very sleepy now...
Ended my range last night & I finally got my marksman! Cos e last range, my teammates damn lousy; it requires e group to have 80% of shots hitting targets. So, even if you are darn good, but your teammates suck, you still wouldnt be able to get marksman. Sadly, I cant get e $200 cos I'm still under infantry while e range I took part in is under support company, hai..

After a search of videos on Youtube of e song "La gata bajo la lluvia", I realised it got a hugh following in Spain! Seems that alot of female contestants in that country's reality TV singing competitions often do a rendition of it; most are quite chio too!
This is a slow version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KHoPasTlaXw&bcsi_scan_09F03AE3CB5B1BFD=cysg79E884+a07c/SC+YegIAAACurHMJ

cant think of heading la..

Damn.. I feel so guilty.
Peiwen got into an accident this morning & I was sleeping when she & shiyan were at e police station, Zzzz. Only got to know it after I woke up, Zzzz. I was damn anxious la, luckily she didnt get injured, phew.. Sorry babe, should have drunk you yesterday night instead!

Wa, I went clubbing 3 times this week. Wednesday @Zouk with siqi, nicholas & jieqi, friday @Plush with siqi & jieqi again & yesterday with peiwen @Zouk. By e way, Plush sucks! The drink sub-standard, dont know what brand one, even e bartender who served us agreed with us, LOL! The music sucks, mostly those RnB which you never hear before or dont even want to hear. Crowd sucks too, most came by guess list(free), so you can expect a bunch of cheapskates coming in huh? So... Please dont go, unless you want to have a bad clubbing experience.

Ha. I realised I always have alot of thoughts out of house, but yet when I am blogging, those thoughts seem to *poof. Nevermind, most of e time, they are senseless ones. Going for range tomorrow!

Choices; again.

Strange huh.
The more you want to hold on something dear, e easier it slips out of your hands. Yet, when its firmly in your grasp, you dont give a fuck care about it. Finally, when you choose to let it go, it just keep on coming back without beckoning. I often question myself on e choices I made, not to regret, but to self-reflect on; as a habit. Which more than often leads me to e this question, "Why did it happen?". Take wednesday night in zouk as an example, one of my friends got to know a girl in Phuture through intimate means, ha.(on e dancefloor) Well, he sort of bid me a farewell after he got e girl & disappeared for e night. Next day, he told me they ended up in bed & spent $159 for e hotel. Guess what, its not at least a 4star hotel.. Its hotel 81! Omg. Okie, thats not point, I just dont understand how would one just bed anyone whom he/she just know for barely 30mins? It takes alot of time to know someone in/out & to get to e intimacy level? Ha, I bet he dont even know her full name after e session. Though I maybe e one, eh.. Fine, I'm always e one talking about those stupid horny stuffs. But I still believe in having a sexual relationship with one that you truly love; for my case, and provided I want to marry her. Maybe I'm too conservative in some sense, but I'm definitely glad that I live by my principles :) Of course, I cant say that he's totally wrong in doing that, maybe inappropriate? Afterall, I can understand e urge of wanting it, its just so hard to bear at times; especially when there is a sweet young thing right in front of you -.-
Ha, time to go for coffee!

C.S Lewis: Likings & Loves

The philosopher, theologian & writer, C.S. Lewis (1898-1963), author of The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, felt e same way. In his 1960 book, The Four Loves, he devotes an entire chapter to: Likings & Loves For the Sub-human.

According to him, when we say we like/love chocolate or country walks, we mean that we take pleasure in them. Now, pleasures can be divided into two groups: those that are preceded by desire, and those that are not.

A glass of water is an example of the first type. When you are thirsty, a glass of water is a very great pleasure. But, as Lewis points out, no one ever pours himself a glass of water "just for e fun of e thing".

An example of a pleasure not preceded by desire would be e fragrance of flowers meeting you unexpectedly on your morning walk.

"You were in want of nothing, completely contended before it," writes Lewis. " The pleasure, which may be very great, is an unsolicited, super-added gift."

Lewis labels these contrasting types of pleasure: need pleasures & pleasures of appreciation.

It's characteristic of need-pleasures that they die very quickly on us. A glass of water is very appealing when we are thirsty, but becomes a matter of indifference once we have drunk it. The pleasure lasts no longer than e need.

Pleasure of appreciation are very different. The pleasure we take in e smells of flowers, e beauty of e stars or a Mozart symphony somehow seems to take us outside ourselves. We feel that: "Something has not merely gratified our senses.. but claimed our appreciation by right."

There's even a glimmer of unselfishness about pleasures of appreciation. We can imagine a wine connoisseur, on his deathbed, taking care that his vintages are preserved properly to be enjoyed by others. After all, such fine wines deserve to be enjoyed.

"In e appreciative pleasures... we get something we can hardly calling love & hardly calling disinterested (that is, unselfish)."

Ha.

Conversation

Ha. I talked to joyce mum last night, on e phone.

Shih shih was asking me about some handphone prices, when she suddenly told me that her mum want to talk to me & handed over to her -.- I was momentarily stunned, didnt know what to start with. Somehow, I managed to start "Auntie, 还好吗". I remember I used to provide her a listening ear, listening to her woes; like doing some catching up, lol. Hmm, I do miss e times when I'm at house listening to her stories, some of them do put me in awe; full of respect of this lady who singlehand brought up 4 daughters. Well, enough said. But its good that we can still talk like as if nothing happened before :)

Anyway, lets have a warm welcome for Siqi! Back to Singles' clan again! Wahahaha..

______

I dont know why I did it. I changed e wallpaper on my phone. Ha. Stupid.

Relaxing time!

The opening is damn nice, follow by e piano keys, it just so enchanting..

I was having my ice vanilla latte at Paragon's Starbucks when I heard a song being played. Following e music, it led me to That CD shop. So, I approached one of e ladies for e album & she passed me a copy of it "A Love So Beautiful" compilation by High Society. As I was walking to e other section, e same lady passed me another album "Appassionante"; sang by 3 italian ladies & she asked me if I would like to hear it. This time round I took a closer look at it, omg, she's damn sweet! & of course, I said yes la. But too bad, she went to attend another customer & her over enthu colleague served me instead :( In e end, I got 3 albums which cost me $84 bucks! --> Friday night winning :) Oh ya, e last album I got is "AstrudGilberto's finest hour", very nice too! I was told she's one of e pioneers in bossanova o.O Shall upload some of hers to my player list.
